Active Communications is a member of the Coventry & Warwickshire
Chamber of Commerce, a founder & accredited member of
the Regional IT Association, (RITA), & is also an elected
RITA Board Member.
Background
The
RITA organisation is for people who work in IT and associated
services in Coventry and Warwickshire.
It evolved out of the Coventry Chamber of Commerce IT Task
Force & is seen as an embryonic model for other associations
to be formed nationally.
Recently it has become a company limited by guarantee &
Pete Jacobs is a Board Director. The next step is to enlarge
into the West Midlands & Warwickshire & has received
government backing to do so.
Its objectives are to improve the standards, ideals, training
and education of those engaged in the profession. In carrying
out these objectives, RITA aims to make sure that its members
subscribe to its values and achieve high standards of professional
conduct.
RITA Objectives
To create a credible and thriving IT Industry in Coventry
and Warwickshire.
To encourage closer collaboration between IT SME companies
in the provision of services to local companies and allow
proposals for larger contracts.
To improve the image of IT companies in the region.
To establish and agree IT quality standards and accreditation
criteria.
To be proven as qualified to provide services to The Chamber/SBS
service.
To establish a co-operative framework for multi skilled projects
in the region.
RITA has the power to:
Make rules and regulations to cover the conduct of its
members and to provide for sanctions in the event of their
infringement. To set up disciplinary procedures for the investigation
of alleged breaches and for the imposition of sanctions, where
appropriate. To hear final disposition of appeals by a member
against any findings which they have committed a breach of
such rules and regulations, and or against the sanction imposed
in respect of a breach.
